Longaberger Baskets
Longaberger baskets are made in the USA. The Longaberger family settled in the small town of Dresden,Ohio at the turn of the century. Young Wendell made a name for him self creating baskets to use in the garden, kitchen, on the job and at gatherings.
The basket making process starts with harvesting mature Maple from self replenishing forests. This hard wood is then veneered and cut into narrow strips for weaving. Traditionally, each basket maker signs their initials and dates the basket on the bottom.
